Bio
Rich Friedman, President of Friedman & Partners, has extensive experience in strategic market planning, market research and analysis, PR and positioning strategy, and business development consulting and training for technical and marketing professionals. He has also assisted firms with implementation of growth strategies, including merger/acquisition searches for target firms and executive searches for key talent.
Rich has worked in and consulted for the A/E/C and environmental industries for 20 years. He first served as an environmental consultant and business developer for Stone & Webster Engineering in Boston, and later as the partner in charge of marketing consulting for ZweigWhite.
As an independent consultant, Rich has worked with firms of all different sizes, including numerous ENR 500 organizations. His technical and business degrees combined with his industry experience provide him a detailed understanding of A/E/C services and the business development process. He is known for his superior responsiveness, communication skills and ability to achieve results, even in the face of the most challenging organizational dynamics.
Rich has conducted a number of seminars and workshops for firms, design and environmental industry professional associations and venues, including AIA, SMPS, ACEC, AGC, NSPE, and “Build Boston.” He has been featured in a number of A/E industry publications, including AIA's Practice Management Digest, SMPS' Marketer, PSMJ's A/E Rainmaker newsletter, IOMA's Design Firm Management and Administration Report, NSPE's PE magazine, and ACEC's Engineering Inc. magazine.
His academic background includes a B.S. from Cornell University and an M.S. from Penn State University, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Babson College (where he was a Summa Cum Laude graduate and a Douglass Scholar in Entrepreneurship).
